Reunion with the lost bag

Hi all!

As you have already guessed from the title, our ill-fated lost bag has finally returned to us, just on the 9th day after arrival, after 3 trips to the airport, numerous calls to LAN and filling in the baggage reclaim form on LAN site (the most ridiculous form we’ve ever seen) – but we’ve found it! The poor thing was stranded in Madrid, because the luggage tag was torn off so nobody knew where to send it and to whom.
LAN had suggested to us that we buy new things and save receipts, At the LAN lost luggage officeafter which if the bag is not found by the 15th day of search, they will refund us the cost of things, but not more than 600 USD. Thanks God it didn’t get to this and our things have returned to us safe and sound.
All in all, the delay in Santiago was not lengthy, just 2 days and one of them is because there were no bus tickets for today. Yesterday we bought tickets to Osorno – this is Patagonia already, it’s Chilean side. We are leaving tomorrow night. The distance from Santiago to Osorno is around 900 km. Our final destination is Bariloche, this is another town in Patagonia but on the Argentinian side. We plan to spend a few days there. Unfortunately, few bus companies go there directly from Santiago and they refused to sell us tickets knowing we are with bikes 🙁 We had to run around the bus terminal before we found a company that was happy to take us with bikes, but this company goes only to Osorno. From there to Bariloche there is around 4 hours’ bus ride on another bus. Not an issue – what’s important is that we are almost on the way to Patagonia!
